Belward Farm Amenities Wishlist | Neighborhood Street Light Improvements

Hello Neighbors,

Belward Farm Amenities Wishlist
As many of you know, Belward Farm is slated for redevelopment. The Montgomery Planning Board will be voting on the site plan this January. In advance of that approval, the landowners, Johns Hopkins University, are interested in what neighbors of the farm (Washingtonian Woods and Mission Hills) would like to see built/kept/repurposed for community use. Some ideas include: a community garden, event space in the dairy barn, and a pedestrian walkway to the property over/under Muddy Branch Road. What would you like to see? Our requests will likely apply to the dozen acres around the homestead which will remain as-is, as it is protected by the Montgomery County Historic Commission.

Please take advantage of this opportunity to have our voices heard. Please submit your requests to Tim Mulford ([email protected]) by Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

Neighborhood Street Light Improvements
As many of you may have noticed, the light fixtures atop the lampposts throughout our neighborhood have recently been replaced with brighter LED fixtures. The newer, brighter LED fixtures will not only increase visibility throughout the neighborhood during nighttime hours, but will also make the neighborhood more energy efficient as well.

This is all part of the City of Gaithersburg’s LED Street Light Conversion Project. You can learn more about this project here.

We hope everyone is staying safe and well.

Thank you,
Glenn Watts
